The West Bengal Cyber Crime Wing, in close collaboration with Eco Park P.S and Bidhannagar cyber crime P.S, has successfully taken down two illegal call centres operating from Astra Tower and Abacus Tower in Newtown. These call centres were involved in defrauding international victims, primarily from the USA, by posing as representatives of Microsoft and other reputable organizations, offering fraudulent technical support services.

Key Highlights:

15 individuals arrested, including 3 women.

A significant haul of laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic devices seized. (62 Laptops, 41 Mobile phones, etc.)

Ongoing investigations into money trails, cryptocurrency, and hawala transactions to uncover the full network and apprehend the masterminds.

A case has been registered at Eco Park Police Station, and efforts to dismantle the entire network are continuing. The West Bengal Cyber Crime Wing remains committed to combating cybercrime and safeguarding the public from fraudulent activities.
