On 24.03.2025 at 1 PM, WB Cyber Crime Wing raided an illegal call center at 17/K/4 Dakshindari Road, Lake Town, Kolkata. The racket under the name 'Ostenix Solutions,' scammed Australian citizens by posing as NBN tech support. 21 accused, including 4 females, were arrested. Seized items include 29 computers, 23 mobile phones, laptops, routers, and incriminating documents. The call center had been running since 2022. Case registered at Lake Town PS, and investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, on 31.01.2025, a raid was conducted at Southwinds, Chowhati, Sonarpur, against another illegal call center scamming US citizens by posing as Microsoft employees. Three accused, including mastermind Joy Halder, were arrested. Further investigation led to the arrest of Shafiquat Shafique on 21.02.2025, with ₹26 lakh cash seized and ₹204 Cr (approx.) in USDT transactions traced over the past year.
